GB's ears shifted upwards, and he lifted his head up from its perch on his front paws. "Oh! Right! I forgot to tell you my name in all this confusion. My name's GB! What's yours!" he responded. The setter promptly lowered his head once more, though. He couldn't keep his mind off of Weed. Where was he? Was he okay? No matter what he did, those thoughts continued to rush through his head.
"Yes, I'm certain," Natalia replied, "I didn't see it for myself, of course, but Jade wouldn't lie about such things. As for whether or not he'll attack us once he's regained his strength, we'll just have to wait and see about that." There was no telling when or if Sync would be back to his normal, dangerously powerful self. He might warm up to them if he stayed around them long enough, but then again, he might not. There was no telling with that unpleasant, self-loathing God-General. "Perhaps we should keep an eye on him, though, just to see if he really will change."
"You do have a point, though." She turned her eyes to the setter, who appeared to be lost in thought. "He seems friendly enough, so what harm would it do to take him in? I'm sure he'd appreciate that," Natalia suggested with a smile.

"It's nice to meet you, GB. I'm Guy, and this is my friend Natalia." Guy greeted, smiling at the setter as he did. "You wouldn't mind coming with us, would you? I mean, it would be better than being by yourself." he pointed out to the setter. Being among a group was much better than being by yourself, in Guy's humble opinion.
At last, he nodded to Natalia. He knew Jade was usually quite honest about these things. Why would he lie about the condition of their former enemy? The fact that Sync was alive put him on edge, though. There was no telling what the self-loathing God-General would do once he regained his full strength. Guy had seen for himself what that full power was, and if Sync could unleash it again... Guy shuddered a little at the thought. "I guess I'll have to trust that Jade knows what he's doing, then. ...Wait, did you say Sync's fonic artes and your healing had been suppressed?" Guy asked, a brief look of distress coming across his face. There had only been one other time when Jade's artes had been limited, and that was when he had been hit by Largo's fon slot seal. If something like that had happened to Jade again, not to mention Sync, and if something was keeping Natalia's healing artes limited, Guy couldn't imagine what might have happened to him upon entering the forest.
...Just to be safe, Guy stood up and pet GB again before moving a little bit away from the group and drawing his sword from its sheath. Better safe than sorry. he thought. He swung his sword through the air, testing its strength, and proceeded to charge toward a small sapling not too far from him. "Sword Rain: Alpha!" he cried, repeatedly slicing at the sapling with his sword and finishing it with a quick stab. The sapling fell over in a sliced heap, and Guy stared at it. A satisfied grin formed on his face after a moment as he sheathed his sword again. His artes still felt as strong as ever. "Sorry about that, I just wanted to make sure my artes weren't being effected somehow." Guy stated as he came back to the group and sat by GB again, motioning for Natalia to join him and GB in the grass.

Before GB could even hope to say that it was nice meeting Guy and Natalia and that he'd be more than glad to go with them, Guy had rushed off to maul a poor, innocent sapling. His only reaction was to sit there and stare, completely and utterly dumbfounded. He allowed his jaw to drop. That poor sapling!
Natalia was relieved to see that Guy's artes were not being affected by the forest. She should have expected such, though, as her own strike artes seemed not to have been affected either. Still, she had to admit that it was rather shocking to see him utterly annihilate that sapling. She and GB then rejoined Guy in the grass, saying not a word. As soon as GB settled himself, he remained lying agape.
She then remembered Guy's question. "Yes," she began to answer, "My healing and Jade's fonic artes have indeed been suppressed. As much as I hate to admit it, you heard me right." It made her more than miserable to think that her healing artes had been weakened, even though she was aware of this indisputable fact for three days now, though she was just thankful to be able to use the artes she could. It was tough, being a healer with weakened healing skills. It was tough, and nobody understood.

Guy was about to say more, but from the corner of his eye he spotted something rather... unusual. The sapling he had decimated decided to regrow itself right before their eyes. Guy's eyes widened. "...Well, that's certainly something you don't see every day." Guy stated, hardly containing his awe at the sight. "This forest just gets weirder and weirder. Talking animals, plants that regrow themselves... oh, sorry about that, GB. I guess I should have warned you about what I was about to do." Guy laughed after a moment when he noticed the poor dog's shocked expression.
He nodded slowly as Natalia spoke, for once finding himself able to put a hand comfortingly on her shoulder without fear. See? He really was getting over it. "I wouldn't worry about it too much for right now, Natalia. So long as none of us get too badly injured, I think we can get by on the gels I brought with me." Guy said, motioning briefly to the satchel slung over his shoulder. In it were several healing gels, which he thought would be very useful to have.

The aging setter was understanding, though he still could not get over the fact at how strange his new friends were. He had never heard of humans with abilities like this. From then on, he guessed, he would refer to them, as a group, of course, as the "magic people." That seemed like a good nickname for the two and their little group that he had not yet met. GB rolled over once more and relaxed himself, hoping that there would be no more of these weird shenanigans. Even though Guy did lash out like that, he thought that he would be a good friend anyway.
Healing gels! Of course! Why had Natalia not thought of that? Of course, she thought, I thought I would be able to handle things on my own. I never foresaw my skills being suppressed like this. She nodded to Guy; he always knew the best ways to comfort her. He always was a good friend, after all. "Thank you," she began to say, blushing at his kindness, "for always looking out for me. Where would I be without you?" That was when she noticed that Guy had mustered up the courage to put his hand on her shoulder.
"Your fear!" she exclaimed. "You really are beginning to get over it after all!"
GB still lay in the grass; he couldn't help musing that the two really seemed to be quite the lovely couple after all. The setter let out a yawn. A lovely couple indeed! he thought to himself.

Guy felt his cheeks grow warm as she spoke. Oh, why did he find himself getting just a bit flustered when she complimented him like that? "It was no problem, really. I had plenty left over from the last fight with Van, so I thought I'd save them in case we were to encounter an occasion such as this." he explained, rubbing the back of his head as he spoke. He nodded a little when she pointed out he had made a big improvement on his fear. "It's just when girls sneak up on me that it gets bad. But, yes, I am getting over it." Guy said.
The blond noble shifted his gaze to GB again, wondering what the setter thought of the pair of them. He couldn't be some kind of shipper in disguise, could he? Nah... that wasn't possible. Guy cleared his throat after a moment, though, and returned his thoughts to GB. "So, disregarding that little 'Let's destroy a random tree sapling' moment, would you care to come with us GB?" he asked again.

Natalia was relieved that Guy had truly begun to get over his fear, and she was still thankful that he was always prepared. She only hoped that those gels would be enough should something bad happen, or worse, should something bad happen to her. The blonde healer pushed aside those thoughts, though. There was no use fearing for the worst in the middle of such a peaceful moment. Yes, now was the time for her to relax and set her fears free.
GB, still lying down, but now on his side, lifted his head and turned it to Guy. "Oh, of course," he said lazily. "I'm kind of all alone here anyway, so I'd be more than glad to come along!" He got up and shook his whole body, his slightly curly, wavy hair poofing out just a little. The setter stretched his front legs forth and yawned again. The meadow was so peaceful that he felt that he could sleep in it all day, but he knew that if he did that, he would lose track of his newfound friends while he drifted off into a dream world. He had to be ready for whenever they were ready to leave, and that meant being as alert as possible. It was a pleasant place, though, and he certainly felt that he wasn't ready to say goodbye to it. Perhaps the lovely couple thought the same. Besides, it was a rough day for old GB; he deserved some time to relax. He tried to resist the urge to lie back down...
...And just as soon as he tried, he failed. He could not do it. He could not stay alert. Just as soon as he had gotten up, he lay right back down. His legs must have been all tired out from all the running he had done. He could not believe how far he had run away from those enormous rats.

"Glad to hear it, GB. You go ahead and relax. I think we all deserve a chance to just kick back for a while." Guy said, moving his hand from Natalia's shoulder and leaning back a little in a relaxed manner. He had to admit, being in the meadow and just relaxing without any sort of worry was a great feeling for Guy. He'd found Natalia, knew Jade was safe, and had met a good companion in GB. Yes, Guy felt it was safe to say this was a good day after all.
A thought crossed his mind after a moment. He had to wonder if Natalia was keeping herself sane while living with Jade and Sync. A sly grin crossed his face as he thought about it. Jade certainly was an... interesting person to say the least. The Colonel had a certain way about him that even Guy had to admit was a bit trying at times. "So, how are you holding up with Jade and Sync Natalia? Jade's not teasing you too much, is he?" Guy asked with a little laugh. He knew Jade did nothing but tease the group the whole time he had known them. It was one of Jade's qualities that separated him from the rest of the group. Despite being a soldier, Jade still found ways to be lighthearted and teasing. Guy didn't think he needed to ask about Sync. He didn't doubt the God-General was still the same as he always had been.

GB took this opportunity to curl up in the soft grass and take a nap. It had been a hard day for the formerly dead dog. He looked so peaceful lying down like that. Perhaps he was having a pleasant dream where he was with old friends.
"Oh, I suppose I'm holding up just fine with them," Natalia replied. "As far as 'fine' goes when you're around Jade!" she added with a laugh. She sometimes had a hard time putting up with the old colonel's teasings, but at least he was his lighthearted self as always. She did admit that she had to wonder how he was holding up with Sync while she was away from their place to stay, but she had faith that he was doing just fine mentoring the reckless God-General in spite of his recovering injuries.
"As for Sync," she added, "he's been just the same as he's always been. I'm certain that he won't be too pleased to see that you're here as well. I've been finding him rather difficult to bear, so that's why I left on my own today. I just wanted to find a place where I could be alone, in peace... but that's all changed since I found you!" She was truly grateful to have found Guy. It felt so nice to rest in this meadow beside a close friend, without a worry in the world.
"I doubt that he'd even mind my absence today, anyway! In fact, he'd probably say good riddance. We haven't exactly been getting along, the two of us." Still, she had to wonder just how Jade was dealing with the unpleasant, green-haired God-General wherever he was training with him today.

Guy just chuckled a little as he listened to Natalia talking about her experience with Jade thus far. It didn't surprise him that Jade was still the same as always. The Colonel couldn't have changed all that much when not a lot of time after defeating Van had passed, after all. "It's good to know Jade's still the same as always. If Peony were here, I'm sure he would love to hear that Jade is doing all right." Guy stated. He had to wonder if the Emperor would send anyone else after them, or if Anise or Tear had heard about their disappearances. Guy just shook his head a little, deciding to let that subject lay where it did.
"I didn't think Sync would have changed all that much. I'm keen to guess he still hates us and everything around him." Guy sighed. "I guess that's what made him and Ion so different, though. It's better he have a personality than no personality at all. Not like Mary..." Guy found himself trailing off. It still stung that a replica of his sister had been made at all. Guy could still remember those soulless eyes staring at him on the Tower of Rem before she disappeared. "But, I suppose you're right. I doubt he'll be all that happy to see me here." Guy chuckled at last, shaking away the bitter memory as he did. "What I'd like to know is how he's putting up with Jade. I can't imagine he finds the teasing all that enjoyable." he added after a moment.
Guy found himself subconsciously scooting closer to Natalia. It was almost as if a part of him wanted to make absolutely sure she would be safe while he was around. "Well, Sync or no Sync, I'm glad I was able to find you. I was beginning to think I might not be all that successful on my rescue mission." he said at last.

Guy froze at the sound of the lion cub's voice. It was female. She was so close. Too close. With a startled yelp, Guy scrambled to his feet again and quickly got behind GB in a vain attempt to hide behind the poor dog. Gynophobia struck again. Once the initial panic wore off and Guy had calmed down again, he thought about what the cub had said. She'd mentioned someone named Sync. Bright blue eyes widened slightly. There was only one person Guy knew that was named Sync. But... there was no way it was who he was thinking of, was there? The God-General was dead. He'd seen it with his own eyes. The boy's replica body had disappeared back on Eldrant after being defeated by the group. "Sorry about that. But... did you say 'Sync' just now?" Guy finally decided to clarify if he had heard her correctly. He needed to know if one of the Six God-Generals was somehow alive and in the forest. It didn't surprise him if it was Sync that had said something like that to her. He didn't look like much of an animal person, much less one that liked fuzzy things all that much. Then again, Guy realized Van had probably drilled it in to Sync's head that everything in the world hated him and so the kid should hate the world right back. He suppressed a soft sigh. If Sync really was alive, that could have meant the other God-Generals were as well. What if they were to run into Largo in the forest? What would that do to poor Natalia after she herself had killed him to save Luke? Guy shook his head a little at the thought. He would just have to comfort Natalia if they did happen to run into the older God-General. It was what he was good at. Subconsciously, Guy reached his hand toward GB and began to scratch the dog behind the ears. Poor GB. Guy wondered if the dog had an owner that was missing him right then. Either way, Guy seemed to have found a fondness for the dog. He was having a hard time resisting the urge to ask Natalia if they could keep him. "Also, if you don't mind my asking you, what happened to you to get those scars on your back?" Guy asked GB. "Yes I said he 's mean and bad ." Fluffy told to Guy she was sad that Sync wanted to make her fur a throw rug but why ? maybe he didn't like animals but that Guy love animals even cubs ....

"That's not all that surprising. He's not known for being all that kind." Guy stated. "Then again, I guess it's hard to blame him with the life he's led." he said after a moment. As much as he hated to admit it, he did feel a little bad for Sync. The kid hadn't had a chance at a proper life with the way Van had pushed him to hate the world. Maybe if he had, he wouldn't have been their enemy. Regardless, he might not have been their enemy right then anyway. If he was weakened, maybe spending time with Guy, Jade, and Natalia would change his ways. "Regardless, I don't think Sync is much of an animal person." he chuckled. He didn't think Sync would do anything to GB in his weakened state, but the lion cub was smaller than GB. Easier to kick around. Sync probably wouldn't be able to resist that. "I'd stay out of his way if I were you." he told the cub.

The life he's led... Natalia reflected on what Sync said he had gone through when he revealed himself to be a failed Ion replica on the Tartarus. It must have been a difficult life, being used by Van the whole time. Even if she didn't like him for what he had done in the past, she could at least pity him. After all, it must have been terrible for him not to have the chance to live a life of his own. "Maybe there's hope yet," she said with a sigh. "Maybe, if we put our minds to it, we can show him what it's really like to live. He's been used by Van for so long. He doesn't even consider himself a human being..." She trailed off. Talking about Sync like this made her feel almost hopeless.
"But he is one!" The blonde healer asserted. "He just doesn't realize it. Luke proved that replicas can be just as human as we are. I have a feeling that it'll be difficult to get Sync to understand that, though. He's always so negative." Somehow, she doubted that that aspect would ever change about him. Even if he did change his ways, it didn't seem likely that he'd let go of all of his negativity.

"Exactly. If it wasn't drilled into him that he was useless, maybe he would have a better outlook on life." Guy said. "Personally, I think there's hope for him. Maybe if we just spent time with him he'd see that life isn't so bad. If Luke and Ion could prove that good lives could be led by replicas, then Sync can see it too." Guy continued with a nod. Luke... Guy missed the redhead. He'd vanished after defeating Van. Where had the redhead ended up? Oh well... it didn't matter. They needed to somehow convince Sync that his life had a purpose even if it didn't seem like it.
Unbeknownst to the group, a little firefly had made his way back to the meadow. Ray seemed to have made the meadow his preferred place of relaxation, as this wasn't the first time he had been in the lovely little location. However, it was the first time he had seen the blond nobleman and the blonde healer princess, not to mention GB. He'd heard a little bit of their conversation, not to mention seen the blushes on both humans' faces, so he had to assume they knew one another in some way or another. "Well, ain't dis de fine lil' get together. Ah didn't think anyone else knew 'bout dis place 'sides me an' a friend of mine." Ray chuckled as he flitted toward the group.
And with that, Guy was completely confused. Talking dogs and lion cubs he was all right with, but where had the strangely accented voice come from? That was when he noticed Ray. ...No. It couldn't have been the firefly speaking, could it? "Ah don't think ah've seen y'all 'round before, neither. When'd y'all get here?" Ray asked. ...Well, that certainly confirmed Guy's thoughts. A firefly was talking.
"Well... I got here today, I guess. I really don't know. I've kind of lost all sense of time in this forest." Guy replied.

Natalia took notice of the little firefly. Talking dogs and lion cubs she guessed she could understand, but fireflies? Things just kept getting stranger and stranger as time went on. She allowed another blush to grace her face. Did the firefly really think that she and Guy made a cute couple? Either way, it wouldn't be proper not to respond to Ray's question.
"Oh, I guess I got here a few days ago. At least, I think I did," Natalia responded. "Who are you, anyway? My name's Natalia." It would be even less proper for her not to introduce herself. It would be best to get that out of the way early on.
GB was completely unaware of their tiny visitor. The wavy-furred setter still lay there on the grass, lost in a world of dreams. He snored quite loudly, too. It was evident that the setter was finally content.
