(ooc: Takes place August 26. I feel like having another relaxing thread after putting Jade through such a rough time in the fire swamp, so yeah. This is purely a relaxing thread. Open to all, but I would love it if Natalia joined in.)
Light. There was light up ahead. True, it was just a faint light and not all that much better in comparison to the darkness of the forest but at that particular moment Guy didn't care. He was more than happy to have a change of pace. The young noble had been lost for what felt like an eternity, and even having just a vague idea of where he was was better than not having any sort of clue. Guy stumbled out of the dark forest and entered the field with less dignity than he would have liked, but he wasn't all that concerned with who saw him. This wasn't Grand Chokmah, after all. He wasn't expected to uphold any social formalities in the forest.
At last, Guy decided to take a break. He sank to the ground, crossing his legs in a criss-cross fashion and resting his head comfortably against his hands with a soft sigh. It wasn't that he had given up hope. On the contrary, Guy had only just begun his search. He couldn't give up on locating Jade and Natalia just yet. Especially not Natalia. Jade could take care of himself, so Guy wasn't as concerned about him. Natalia, on the other hand, wasn't as experienced as the rest of their little group. Like Peony had initially thought, Guy was concerned for Natalia's safety. "I just hope I can find them soon. It's getting a bit ridiculous with how confusing this forest is." he said to no one in particular. He didn't expect anyone to hear him. It wasn't likely that Natalia, or anyone else for that matter, would just... appear there, right?

What a miracle! There was light - not just any light, but sunlight, nonetheless - to be found in this wretched place after all! After being lost in the darkness for so long, guided only by the fireflies' light, and after that terrifying experience in the fire swamp, sunlight was more than comforting for Natalia to see. Indeed, it was a wonderful change of pace after having to endure Jade's usual, teasing nature and Sync's general unpleasantness for three days. As nice as it was to have reunited with Jade, sometimes the young princess could not bear his teasing and his normally constant, somewhat eerie smile. The only thing that would make this experience better would be if Guy were here to experience it with her. Oh, if only he did not have to take care of Peony's rappigs all the time!
But wait! Who was that in the distance? It couldn't be... but she could recognize the tall, blond noble anywhere. He looked lost in thought as he was sitting on the grass in that criss-cross fashion. Perhaps she should alert him of her presence. But how? she wondered.
Then she came up with the perfect plan. Why not try and see one last time if he had gotten over that phobia of his? Yes, she thought, That is clearly the best way to go about doing this. She approached her formerly rappig-walking friend slowly.
Closer...
Closer...
Closer... and... She swiftly poked Guy with one finger. Surely this would get his attention.
The perfect crime.

"WHOA!" Guy yelped, not expecting anyone to actually sneak up on him. He scrambled to his feet and quickly looked to see who had poked him, but upon seeing the perpetrator of the crime was so... close to him, not to mention a girl, only succeeded in freaking him out more. With a less than manly cry, Guy made an attempt at backing away but only succeeded in falling over backwards on the ground.
After getting over his initial panic, Guy shook his head and looked up at the perpetrator once more. Bright blue eyes widened when he realized who it was. "N-Natalia!" it was a mix of joy and still just the tiniest bit of fear that graced his voice. He thought he had been doing so well getting over his gynophobia. How embarrassing. he thought. He wouldn't be all that surprised if she thought had made a fool out of himself.

And... it seemed that he hadn't gotten over his fear entirely. How unsurprising. Natalia couldn't help laughing, though. It was just so wonderful to see Guy here after he had said that he couldn't come with her because of Peony's rappigs. "I thought you had to tend to the emperor's rappigs," she said in a surprised tone. "So, what brings you here? Did you convince him to have someone else take care of them for you?"
It didn't matter, though. She was just ecstatic to have reunited with her close friend so soon, even if it meant being lost together. She had to admit that he did look ridiculous sprawled out on the grass like that. "Do get up," she added, "because you're making yourself look silly."
It really was the perfect crime, though.

"Sorry. It's just... you came up so suddenly!" Guy explained as he got to his feet, brushing grass from his outfit and letting his bright blue eyes meet her lighter green ones. He'd missed seeing her...
Oh, right! She'd asked about how he had ended up there. "It wasn't easy, but I finally convinced Peony to find someone else to help him with his rappigs and got permission to come look for you. I got worried when it was becoming apparent that both you and Jade had vanished without a trace. I'm glad to see nothing too bad has happened to you, though." Guy said, a light smile gracing his face as he spoke. He really was relieved that his companion was all right. Now all he had to do was find Jade, and the three of them could find a way out of the forest.

Natalia had missed seeing Guy as well. Though it hadn't been long since he informed her of Jade's spontaneous disappearance, being lost in the darkness of the forest and the intensity of the fire swamp had made her more than relieved to see Guy.
"I see," Natalia replied, taking notice of Guy's smile of relief. "So that's why you came to find me. You don't need to worry about Jade, either; I've already found him. I'll take you to where he's been staying if you want me to," she offered. She didn't know if she should tell him about a certain green-haired God-General, though. She figured that it might freak him out just as it did her that he was alive. Besides, she quite liked seeing him like this. She didn't want to be the bearer of bad news in a happy moment like this.
"I guess it's a good thing that I left on my own for today," she added, cautious not to mention that Jade had been mentoring Sync and was probably doing so at that very moment, "or otherwise I probably wouldn't have reunited with you like this." A smile graced her face as well. It felt so refreshing to enjoy a moment of real, uninterrupted peace after all that had happened all at once not long after her arrival in this mysterious, magical forest.
Yes, completely uninterrupted peace...

"Well, I'm glad I was able to find you at all. Not to mention unharmed." Guy said. Indeed, he was very glad to see she didn't look hurt. He didn't know what he would do if he had come upon her in the midst of a heated battle, or worse, dying. "And I wouldn't mind if you could take me to this place of yours and Jade's. I can bet Jade will be pleased to see a third member of our group made it here." he chuckled. Pleased? That probably wasn't the word for it. Jade would be... hmm... what would the word be? Oh well, it didn't matter. "For now, though, I think it would be all right if we stayed here. I doubt we'll be seeing much sunlight in this place for long, so we might as well enjoy it while we can." he stated.
Were Guy not recovering from gynophobia, he probably would have moved closer to Natalia. Subconsciously, he did move a tiny bit closer... but only a tiny bit. Yes, the blond noble felt that nothing could ruin this joyous moment between him and the blonde princess. Nothing at all.

Yes, absolutely nothing at all could have ruined Guy and Natalia's tender moment, not even a sole, stampeding, panicked dog bowling into either of the two. It was a perfect moment, just between the two of them.
GB closed his eyes, as he was terrified of what he might see himself running into. He didn't care how long he had been running so long as he got himself away from those vile pests that had startled him back in that fiery, flamey, firey swamp. Though he no longer heard their horrid footsteps, he could not help running farther.
The English setter finally opened his eyes, but it was too late. He saw what looked to be a lovely couple engaged in a romantic moment, and normally he would have had the courtesy to leave them alone, but he had gained so much momentum by running slightly downhill that he simply could not stop. As if he were a bowling ball, he bumblingly bowled over Guy as he finally skidded to a halt.
GB finally tumbled over onto his side; this foolish display more than startled Natalia. She had not been serious when she thought that the only thing that could ruin this perfect moment was a dog of which GB filled all the criteria. "Whew," the bewildered dog panted. "Did I lose them?" He looked all around the meadow while lying down, still panting. There were no signs of immense rodents anywhere in the peaceful meadow, but the pain from the bite on his tail was still real. This was clearly one of the crazier days the cowardly setter had ever seen.
Natalia simply sat there by where Guy had been so rudely bowled over and stared. Just when she thought she could not possibly be in any more awe, she was. Who was this dog, and what was his deal? And furthermore, could he not have stopped for their peaceful moment?
Obviously not. GB was still out of breath from the ridiculous distance he had run from the abnormally large rats. All he could do was pant. He had run long distances like this before when he was recruiting reinforcements for Weed's army, but never had he run with such enormous, foul rodents on his tail!

Guy had barely seen the setter coming. He just yelped as poor GB barreled into him and let out a pained 'ooph!' as he hit the ground with the large dog near him. He lay there in the grass, dazed for a good few moments and quite uncertain of what had just hit him. Then he heard a voice asking if he had lost 'them', whoever they were. It was when his vision finally cleared that he realized it was the dog that had spoken. Guy blinked a couple of times, quite confused by the fact that a dog had spoken at all. Dear Yulia and Lorelei, I must have lost it at some point looking after Peony's rappigs. he thought.
"Well, I don't know who the ones that were chasing you are, but it seems like you're pretty safe to me." Guy replied. Who was this dog, and why had he been so panicked? Guy carefully looked the dog over. He didn't appear all that old, but it looked like he had seen better days with the awful scars on his back. Guy offered the poor dog a sympathetic look and a small pat on the head. Perhaps this dog was friendly. Well, he had rather unintentionally barreled into him so he couldn't be all that bad.

GB blinked in astonishment. This human he had unwittingly crashed into could understand what he was saying!? This place was getting weirder and weirder. The setter let out a nervous laugh. "Oh, I guess I am safe," he said. It was clear that he was embarrassed by what he had done, even though he never intended to run into anyone. All that embarrassment went away, though, when he felt Guy's hand pat him on the head; in response, he gave a large, goofy smile as dogs often do.
It really was safe for him to relax. All the rats that were chasing him were gone. He guessed that they didn't want to run too far from their territory. They could have it. GB wouldn't ever want to live with them, not even for a day. He'd be terrified that they might think of him as a snack! Relieved that the rats were gone, he finally took the time to look at what a beautiful day it was. "Sorry," he finally apologized, completely bashfully, "for ruining your moment." The English setter sat upright and scratched his ear.
Natalia, still surprised by all of this, had no idea what to say. She was simply in awe. How odd indeed that dogs can talk to humans! Perhaps this is the work of the forest as well? she thought. If it could weaken her healing artes, suppress Jade's fonic artes, and bring Sync back to life, then she supposed that it could be possible for them to understand certain animals. Thinking of her weakened healing abilities, she noticed that the large dog had attained some sort of bite wound on his tail, and recently as well. She focused for a minute and cast one of her healing spells. "Are you okay?" the healer asked. "You look like you got yourself into some trouble not too long ago. My skills aren't what they used to be, but maybe this will speed along the recovery process?" She thought she almost sounded as if she were considering herself to be an aging or old lady by saying that. No, this wasn't the forest's doing; it must have been because Jade had started rubbing off on her. Oh, the horror!
GB looked back to his tail in awe. It wasn't in quite as much pain as it had been when the rat bit it. He had no idea why she said that her healing skills weren't what they used to be; he was just relieved that its recovery had gotten a kickstart! "Th-thanks," the setter said, with a hint of awe in his voice. He simply wagged his tail in gratitude. GB rolled over in delight. He had almost forgotten how it felt to relax. Maybe a perfect moment could be established once more. If only Weed were here to see this!
Oh, Weed! GB shouldn't have reminded himself of his old friend at a time like this. Wherever you are, I hope you're alive... Despite the peaceful moment, he couldn't help looking worried about someone, somewhere.

"Hey, don't worry about it. You didn't mean any harm, you were just panicked." Guy said as he sat up. He, too, was curious about what happened to the poor dog. He couldn't help but smile when GB finally rolled over, exposing his oh so soft looking belly fur to them in the process. "My name is Guy, by the way, and this is my friend Natalia. If you don't mind my asking, what's your name?" Guy asked, having to resist the urge to talk the way he would to a dog in Auldrant... which namely would consist of adding 'boy' or 'girl' to his sentences unnecessarily. He motioned for Natalia to join them in the grass after a moment. Since it seemed like they were meant to relax for the moment, he supposed it only made sense that Natalia would join them in a relaxing position of her own.
Really, Guy wanted to ask what had happened to give GB those awful scars on his back. No dog deserved to endure whatever he had gone through in Guy's humble opinion.

Fluffy saw a man a dog and a woman and she hid behind
a tree she was shy and said :" You aren't going to make my fur
into a throw rug Are you beaucse some one named Sync said
he 'll do it ."
Fluffy walked to the man and asked him
the young cub was afarid of Sync a not friendly man
but maybe the man Guy who she 's asking him won't
make a throw rug of the golden lioness's fur .

Guy froze at the sound of the lion cub's voice. It was female. She was so close. Too close. With a startled yelp, Guy scrambled to his feet again and quickly got behind GB in a vain attempt to hide behind the poor dog. Gynophobia struck again. Once the initial panic wore off and Guy had calmed down again, he thought about what the cub had said. She'd mentioned someone named Sync. Bright blue eyes widened slightly. There was only one person Guy knew that was named Sync. But... there was no way it was who he was thinking of, was there? The God-General was dead. He'd seen it with his own eyes. The boy's replica body had disappeared back on Eldrant after being defeated by the group.
"Sorry about that. But... did you say 'Sync' just now?" Guy finally decided to clarify if he had heard her correctly. He needed to know if one of the Six God-Generals was somehow alive and in the forest. It didn't surprise him if it was Sync that had said something like that to her. He didn't look like much of an animal person, much less one that liked fuzzy things all that much. Then again, Guy realized Van had probably drilled it in to Sync's head that everything in the world hated him and so the kid should hate the world right back. He suppressed a soft sigh. If Sync really was alive, that could have meant the other God-Generals were as well. What if they were to run into Largo in the forest? What would that do to poor Natalia after she herself had killed him to save Luke? Guy shook his head a little at the thought. He would just have to comfort Natalia if they did happen to run into the older God-General. It was what he was good at.
Subconsciously, Guy reached his hand toward GB and began to scratch the dog behind the ears. Poor GB. Guy wondered if the dog had an owner that was missing him right then. Either way, Guy seemed to have found a fondness for the dog. He was having a hard time resisting the urge to ask Natalia if they could keep him. "Also, if you don't mind my asking you, what happened to you to get those scars on your back?" Guy asked GB.

GB was enjoying being treated like this way too much. It had been several years since he had lost his master, and even though he had been a stray since that day until the day of what he thought was his death, he was still a pet dog at heart. He smiled once more until Guy asked him how he got his scars. Then he lowered his head onto his front paws and sighed, as aging dogs like himself tend to do.
"These scars?" GB asked, craning his neck around to look at his back once more. "Well, you see, there was this bear," he began to explain. "And it was attacking my friend!" He thought back to when Weed had used his special attack on the hybrid bear; ever since he learned the thing, it tired him out enough that he was completely vulnerable after landing it. The hybrid bear had taken that as an opportunity to kill the blue-gray pest then and there, but GB wouldn't allow it.
"It would have killed him, but I jumped in the way, you see?" The gundog wasn't so used to being an explainer, but he tried his best. "I grabbed onto its toe and somehow ripped it off, but as I was doing that..." This next part was still painful to him. "It slashed my back and threw me to the ground! I think I must have done some damage to it at least, but it got the better of me! I didn't survive the attack." GB's ears drooped. He was still worried that Weed might not have been able to avenge him or that the hybrid bear had killed his friend.
"I'm a coward. I shouldn't have been able to do that. But somehow... somehow I knew that that was exactly what I had to do to save him! I thought I died, but..." GB looked up and into the distance. "I woke up, but not where I thought I would. I woke up all the way over there!" His eyes were fixated on the way to the fire swamp. "How? How am I alive?"
Natalia's eyes widened at the young lioness's words. Did she just say Sync? She did not just say Sync, did she? Alas, it was apparent that she had just said Sync. "Oh well," she sighed. "I guess this cat's out of the bag. Yes, Sync is alive. I've seen him." She guessed that it would be better to explain to Guy what she had tried so hard not to tell him before the little lioness's arrival. "And actually, for the time being, he's living with me and Jade. From my understanding of what Jade told me, he's unable to use his more powerful fonic artes without risking fainting. In a way, he's been reduced to being as frail as Ion."
"As for why he's alive, though," she added, "it is likely the forest's doing. The same magic force that is limiting my healing artes must be what has brought him back to life. That's... really all there is to say on the matter." Perhaps Guy wouldn't be as freaked out as Natalia was about Sync's revival now that he's had a chance to hear an explanation. From this point on, though, Guy would have to learn about these things on his own and be the explainer again. She had a feeling that Jade would want him to do just that. "You've really grown attached to that dog, haven't you? Don't think I don't see you scratching him behind the ears," Natalia added as she noticed that Guy seemed like he wanted to keep the dog that had crashed into him in a panic.

Guy frowned a little, both as GB explained what had happened to him and Natalia's explanation that Sync was indeed alive. GB's story made him think that perhaps he was a stray after all. "That must have been awful... but at least you're here now, among friends." Guy said, stopping his ear scratching and instead going to stroke the setter. Long, soothing strokes down the dog's scarred back. "I guess this forest really does have some magical properties if you ended up here instead of truly dying." Guy said after a moment. "You never did tell us your name, though." he pointed out, realizing he still didn't know GB's name.
Now Guy's thoughts were back on Sync as he continued to stroke GB. The young noble didn't like this turn of events. He had never been fond of the green-haired replica. The kid put himself down so much instead of trying to do good like Ion, Luke, or even Florian. "You're certain he's as frail as Ion right now? And that he won't attack us once he's regained his strength?" Guy asked. He wanted to make sure their little group would be safe while they remained lost for the time being.
At last, though, Guy just laughed when Natalia pointed out how attached to GB he seemed to be. "Well, what can I say? This guy is quite the friendly dog. Besides, we can't just leave him out here on his own. Whatever attacked him before he found us might try to do so again if he stays on his own." Guy pointed out.
